Kat Von D Monarch Eyeshadow Palette from Sephora

Even though I didn't get much in this Sephora order, it is the most expensive one yet. (thanks to my Kat Von D Monarch palette)..

The only other thing I ordered was the Velvet eyeliner appliques..and the only reason I got them was so I would get free shipping. (That gives you an idea of how mush the palette was!!).I used a coupon code to get a free trial size Dior Lash Primer, and  as always, got 3 nice samples with my order. I always try to get perfume samples- they come in little vials with a spray nozzle. You can actually get quite a few uses out of them!

I am going to try to find the code I used for the primer, and I also have alot more coupon codes, not only for Sephora but many other online stores.I am going to dedicate an entire page to those. If you are interested, follow my blog and you should be seeing that post very soon.
I am also going to do pictures, maybe a video of this palette. There are so many different ways to wear these shadows!There are 3 different bases that change the look of the eyeshadow when you wear it underneath. The combinations are endless! I can't wait to play with it!! :-)

April 2014 Cult Spring Fling BlackBox

I chose the "Spring Fling" BlackBox for my April "Cult" subscription box. It is a really nice set. I love the waterproof white eye crayon, and the makeup brushes. And the polishes are gorgeous!-Belmont Shore is a nice, pretty pink color, and Hollywood forever is described as:" light-shattering polish. It's opalescent glow and luminescent shades go on like magic over any base color.".
The more I am with this subscription box, the more I like them. I still prefer Julep, but this one is definately my second favorite!!

Shade SHifter Shadows

I have a new obsession. The only place to get it is from Sephora (or Amazon). It is the most gorgeous, highly-pigmented eyeshadow I have ever used.And it is very expensive :-).It would take me years to actually get all of the palettes and single shadows that I want, but I do own one single (shade shifter in "On The Road"), and should be getting my first palette ("Monarch Eyeshadow Palette")in the next day or two.
Hopefully these will keep me content , at least for a little while.Otherwise, I am going to have to start taking up collections to support my KatVonD addiction .

Monarch Eyeshadow Palette

For those of you who have never tried these shadows, DON'T- unless you are ready to fork out some major $$..I will be posting after I get my palette to let you know if it is worth the money. All of the Kat Von D shadows I have tried really stay put, and are so highly pigmented that you really don't have to use much. When you take those two factors into consideration, it may actually be worth it to spend a little extra for a great palette. I know it will last me forever..The real question is,how long before another one comes out that I will just HAVE to have!?

Amazon "Hard Candy" Haul

I am always looking for a good deal on makeup. I have been shopping at Amazon for years- it is where I got about 90& of my movies, video games, and toys for my son. Recently I was looking around on there and I noticed they had "Wholesale cosmetics Lots" so, of course, I checked it out. I was a little leery, because it did not tell you what you would be getting. It simply said mixed lot, no duplicates.I thought I would probably end up with a bunch of makeup in colors/products no one would ever wear, but they had one for $10, with free shipping. SO I decided it was worth the risk just to see...
 It took a little longer than most items on Amazon do to get to me, but once I got it I was really surprised, and very happy with what I received in the box!It was supposed to be 10 items, but I actually got 12, so that was a nice surprise!
Here is what I got:
mascara in electric blue
mascara in black
1 nail polish-gray with black specks
bronzer/highlighter stick
loose body glitter (pink)
eyeshadow glitter (light green)
baked eyeshadow in a gorgeous chocolate brown/bronze color (sparkly)
cream eyeshadow tube ("Eye Def") in a light blue
plumping lipgloss
"lip def" tube in bronze
..and last, but not least: my favorite product: concealer/corrector palette with 6 shades, including 3 skin tones, yellow, green, and a pink/lilac. comes with an attached, covered applicator

After I saw what I ha received, I immediately went right back to Amazon and ordered a lot of 25 items from the same seller (Bozley's Bargains)..I will be posting about that one as soon as I receive it!
I guess it pays to take a chance once on awhile after all!

Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara

 I have been wanting this mascara for a very long time, but couldn't see spending $23 on any mascara. I have always been a drugstore makeup kind of girl. Especially mascaras.Maybelline and L'oreal both have excellent mascaras, and they are under $10. Why pay twice as much for a mascara, just because it has a fancy name?
 Well..since I have been beauty blogging, I have started getting a zillion emails every day from places like Ulta, Sephora,Urban Decay, MAC, & yes, even the elusive Too Faced. They all try to lure you in with special "sales" and Promotions. In a moment of weakeness, I clicked over to Too Faced and looked around. The only thing I saw that I really wanted was that darn mascara. And it was, of course, on sale. I probably went back and forth for 3 days before finally deciding that it would greatly benefit my blog to step away from my norm and try something new. So I bought it. My first high-end mascara EVER.

I had it for a few days before trying it. I am not sure if I was afraid I would be disappointed,and feel like I wasted money,or that I would LOVE it, and never want to go back to my drugstore mascaras.
The brush is hourglass shaped-which is really unique. Well, it was until Covergirl came out with their "Flamed Out" mascara, which is getting great reviews and seems really similar to BTS.The formula is really thick and very black. I didn't curl my lashes at all, and I could tell right away that it added curl. It also gave them alot of volume, but I have never been a fan of volume,since it almost always ends up clumpy.This mascara is no exception.It did add a good amount of length to my lashes too, but by the time they were as long as I wanted, they were really clumpy.
I don't hate this mascara-if I take the time to separate my lashes after each application I think it would look really good.I won't ever buy it again, though.Honestly, even on sale, this mascara is not worth the money.I would much rather use my drugstore stand-bys.None of them ever made my lashes clumpy and added a great deal more length.
At least now I know how I feel about this mascara. And, who knows-maybe I won't ever feel the need to roam from my good old cheap mascaras again.:-)

this is my first box from Julep, and I was very pleased!! Very high quality products!
The products I chose for this month were the eyeliner, in brown & black. It came with a very nice pencil sharpener, and the pencil glides on like silk and stays put all day. I also got a lip gloss in the color "Charming". It smells really good and feels great on your lips! It stays on, but doesn't feel sticky. It actually feels like oil. the color is sheer, but gorgeous.
