My Obsession With Eyeshadow Palettes
I love makeup. All kinds of makeup-many different brands.. But lately I have realized that I am particularly obsessed with one type of makeup in particular...eyeshadow. More specifically, eyeshadow palettes. I blame the artist in me for this.. some palettes are so beautiful to look at-not just once they are on your eyes, but in the palette itself.I especially love my Inglot palettes, because I design them myself , and their colors are absolutely gorgeous!!I will end up buying their shadows until I have them all, and spend hours getting the palettes perfect..just so that they are "pretty" to look at . I will probably never be able to wear all of the ones I currently own, but for me, it is like owning a piece of artwork. I wish that I could frame them and put them on my wall.
I can't wait to get started experimenting with them.Who knows, maybe I will get really good at making them and develop my own line of eyeshadows- combining my love of art & makeup!

**Drugstore Dupe" of the week
Battle of the Face Primers: Smashbox & Benefit vs. Maybelline
Anyone interested enough in makeup to be reading this blog has at least heard of face primers. There are so many of them out there, and almost all of them claim to do the same things:reduce pores
fill in fine lines
blur imperfections
create a smooth canvas for our foundation
I have found 3 products that do all of these things, and do them well. The only difference is that one of them is significantly cheaper than the other 2 more well known ones.
First, we have the infamous primer by Smashbox-"Photo Finish Foundation Primer"
This one does work really well, but it retails for $36. Enough said.let's move on..
Benefit is another wonderful cosmetics company, and I own quite a few of their products and love them-but they can also be a but pricey. An example is "the POREfessional"
This also does all of the miraculous things listed above, just like the Smashbox primer..but retails for $30. So, although it is $6 cheaper, I know we can do better..
Which brings me to a very well known, and loved drugstore brand, "Maybelline".. They have a product out now called "Baby Skin Instant Pore Eraser".
I bought it (for $6), not expecting it to do all of the things those other 2 can.I simply thought it would make my pores appear a little smaller. I was pleasantly surprised to find that it does EVERYTHING the others do, and I personally cannot find a single difference between the three. Except for the price, of course.
I'm sure there are going to be people, that for whatever reason will still continue paying $20+ more for the higher-end primers, but I can tell you from personal experience-there is no reason to. If you want a primer, go out and get this little gem from Walmart (or CVS,etc..) and I guarantee you won't be disappointed!!

Kmart mini-haul
They had a few eye shadow palettes on clearance at Kmart today, so I figured I may as well grab them. I honestly expected them to be crap, but I am VERY surprised at how nice these shadows are!!
The first ones I saw were by Profusion, who I have heard of before, but never actually tried. The particular palettes they had are called "Ready To Glow"
.Each one has 12 different shadows, and each palette was $1.99.There must have been about 6 different ones, all with similar colors but with slight differences.I bought the one with the most pink shades in it. Not sure why I only picked one, but now that i know how awesome the shadows are I am going back to get more!!
All of the palettes had gorgeous colors! Shimmery, white, pink, brown and gold hues. They are super pigmented and feel extremely creamy on your skin. I have not actually worn these on my eyes, but the way they looked and felt on my hand with no primer- I can only imagine how fabulous they are going to look !!
The other brand that caught my eye was L.A. COLORS. They had 5 different palettes on sale for $3.99,and they all had really pretty colors, but I have so many eye shadows now, I decided to only get 2 of them.
They have 16 eye shadows, and just like the Profusion palettes, these all have great pigmentation & feel ultra creamy. These have a wide variety of gorgeous colors-all have at least some shimmer to them. Some appear more shimmery than others on your skin.

One of the palettes is called "Haute".It has some neutral shades,
pinks,
yellow, greens, blues & purples. I REALLY like this palette. The colors are all very vibrant and the faint hint of shimmer makes them absolutely gorgeous.
The second one I picked up is called "Smokin".The shadows in this
palette have a deeper, richer tone to them- browns, greens, blues, and
greys,a beautiful magenta shade, champagne, lilac, white, and a nice
black shade.Just
like the other palette. these all have wonderful pigmentation, feel super creamy and have just the right amount of shimmer.
So it looks like I will be making another trip back to Kmart soon :-)..These are incredible deals!! Just proves you don't always get what you pay for!!!

The Balm Cindy Lou Manizer highlighter VS Elf Baked Blush in Pinktastic
Summer is here and it's time to change up our makeup routines! As our skin gets more color from our days out in the sun, most of us start using less foundation and more highlighters to emphasize that golden glow. There are many to choose from, but we don't have to spend alot to look great, which is the whole reason for this weekly post.
The Balm "Cindy Lou Manizer" highlighter is really nice, but the cost ($24) is a bit high.....
There is an alternative to this product though, at a much cheaper price .Anyone who reads my blog knows that e.l.f. (eyeslipsface)is an amazing line of cosmetics at a super cheap price. Their baked blush in the color "Pinktastic" is slightly less pink than "Cindy Lou", but for only $3, it's a terrific find! Personally, I prefer the elf one, because I get dark in the summer, and I don't want a highlighter that is too pink..
